 1. What if I have problems Signing in?

 A.

You must register in order to login. If you have registered, but cannot sign in, first, verify your correct username and password  -- it is case sensitive. If that does not solve the problem, our system may be down temporarily. Please bear with us and try again later.

If you are sharing a computer, ECSSR recommends that you do not select "Remember my login." If you are always signed in to your ECSSR account when this computer is turned on, another user may be able to access your account without your knowledge. If such an event occurs or your password is breached, please notify the webmaster immediately so that we disable your account or change your password.

 2. Why do I need to register?

 A.

Registration will give you access to features not available to guest users such as ability to post messages and enabling you to post your resume in our database. It only takes a few moments, and we strongly recommend you register.

 3. How do I change my password?

 A.

Go to the "Members" tab and click on "ChangePassword." You can change your password there.

 4. What do I do if I've lost my password?

 A.

It can be retrieved. From the "Members" tab, click "Forgot Password?" and we will send the password to your e-mail address. If you have allowed a full 24 hours for delivery of the new password, and it has not arrived, then contact us.

 5. How do I change my profile?

 A.

If you are registered, your profile is stored in the database. After login, and from "Members" tab, click on "Edit Profile" to change your profile.

 6. I receive an error message that says "Invalid user name or password " What does this mean?

 A.

This means your combination is not valid. Please refer to questions related to password loss for assistance.

You can send an e-mail with a message to webmaster.

 8. Who are the moderators and administrators?

 A.

Moderators are assigned to monitor the forums and approve suggested topics. They have the power to alter forum content as necessary.

Administrators are assigned the highest level of control over the entire board. They control all facets of board operation which includes giving permission, banning users, etc. They also have full moderator capabilities in forums.

In order to apply for one of the job vacancies that appear, fill the application form including your resume` and photo if available.

Yes, ECSSR keeps strict control over security of your data in transmission and storage.

 11. What should I do if I have received spam or abusive email from someone on this board?

 A.

We regret such incidents. You should email the board administrator with a full copy of the email, including the headers of the particular message, as it will allow administrators to take proper actions.

 12. How do I operate the Gulf Forum section?

 A.

Gulf Forum is an online community where a group of people can gather around a common interest.

  • Click on "Recommend a Topic."
  • Recommend a specific category for the topic.
  • Enter topic and submit to moderator. We will notify you of approval, modification, or rejection promptly.

 13. How do I update the email address that is attached to my profile?

 A.

You cannot change the email address that is attached to your profile. However you can always register with a new e-mail.

 14. Why do users have to register in Gulf Form?

 A.

Gulf Forum users are asked to register so that they can participate in discussions and view unread messages.

 15. How do I play the movies on your site?

 A.

QuickTime
If streaming movies do not play properly, check your QuickTime connection speed setting. Open the QuickTime Settings control panel, then choose Connection Speed from the pop-up menu, and select your connection speed. If you select a speed slower than your actual connection speed, QuickTime will always try to locate and play versions of the movie authored for the closest match to the slower connection speed. (The resulting movie may be smaller in size and lower in quality than your connection can actually support). If you select a speed faster than your actual connection, QuickTime playback may stutter or appear jerky.

ECSSR uses a protocol called RTSP to ensure the best performance. However, if your network connection is protected by a firewall, you may not be able to connect using RTSP. In this case, QuickTime streaming can be used with the HTTP protocol instead. (This is the way your browser communicates with the Internet.) However, the performance may not be as smooth as with RTSP. If you still experience problems, contact your network administrator and review the information on the Apple QuickTime website. Please also feel free to contact us.

Real Format
If you have any problems viewing content from our side due to suspected technical matter please follow these steps before you contact us:
1) Please try several other links on our website. If some other link works then please report to us the fault describing its nature. We will promptly address the problem.
2) Check other sites that also have Real Media Streaming (one such example is www.real.com). If other sites are viewable, then please contact us with details of the interruption in service.

Windows Media Format 
Please note that we are using "mms" to deliver media content via Windows Media Format. We do not allow roll over to HTTP and hence some users behind firewalls will require special settings to their firewalls or proxy setup. Please contact your system administrator regarding this issue.

Otherwise, please verify that your system allows viewing of streaming content using Windows Media Player. This can be done by visiting other sites that deliver streaming content on Windows Media Player. If you suspect that we have a broken link or some sort of Technical Issue in the Media content (audio/video), please contact us describing the nature of the problem.
